I live in an artist-scientist
relationship with my
doctor husband
Jouko Laurila and
three teenagers.

Family name

My grandfather, village blacksmith Janne Marttiini, started creating iron utensils and tools in Lapland almost a century ago.
His knives subsequently became world famous. The first product of the Marttiini Knife Factory was the Lynx knife. The design of this knife has remained practically unchanged until today.

In this picture he is working in his blacksmith´s forge, surrounded by his committed team.
I champion his idea of sustainable user-driven innovative design combined with inspired cooperation.
Simple and clear.

(As for the other Mia Martini, the great Italian singer, she is sadly deceased.)
